K&S advanced system

"One startup a month" project

Background of the CEO of the company:

Danny Shikh – CoFounder and CEO of K&S Advanced Systems LTD.

BSc.E.E. degree of Electronics Engineering from Tel-Aviv University.

Background positions in Israeli Hi Tech Companies:

  • Hardware development Group Leader
  • VP R&D
  • COO

What is the innovation and uniqueness that the company brings?

K&S Advanced Systems LTD developed unique systems and innovative approach in Active Vibration Control for Precision tools and instruments, which operates in very high resolution levels. Such solutions require in Semiconductors manufacturing processes, Metrology, Inspection, Electronic Microscopy, Medical Equipment and Automotive.

All these, require specific environmental conditions. Most critical are unwanted environmental vibrations.

Vibrations are type of “devil”. Most of precision and analytical tools “suffering” from unwanted vibrations. The manufacturers of such instruments, clearly define for their potential users certain requirements for environmental conditions, which includes Vibrations Level, Acoustic Noise level and EMI.

The users, performing site survey prior the installation process and found that the  site conditions are out of spec, require to provide the solution in area which out of their expertise.

Resolving vibrations problems extremely difficult and complicated process.

Decades ago, the people tried to solve such problems by massive constructions, building special concrete “quite islands”. This is old and very expensive method. K&S systems brings 21st age Hi Tech capabilities to solve this in elegant and cost effective ways. Our products are electromechanical devices, which includes mechanical components, electronics and software, embedded state of the art algorithms.

Our products are designed to work with high-resolution tools across industries. K&S systems brings unique capabilities in Industry 4.0 and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

Does the company operate in the global market? (if yes: where)? Specifically in Asia?

The company operates in more than 30 countries. Most of Semiconductor FABs located in Asia and naturally our main targets are in China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and Singapore. K&S has subsidiary offices in China and South Korea.

What are the company's goals for 2022, with the emphasis on Asia?

Asian countries Governments investing hundreds Billions of Dollars in Semiconductor industry as strategic investments till 2030. For example Chinese Government define a target to manufacturer 80% of total IC chips in China till 2030. Korean Government investing $143 Billion in local Semiconductor industry. Our goals to be a significant player in growing Asian Semiconductor Industry and increase partnerships with Major Global Players in these industry, like Samsung, SK Hynex, Huawei, TSMC, etc..

Where does the company see itself in 2025?

K&S professionally development and manufacturing advanced Active Vibrations Control Systems. These days, Semiconductor Industry trying to implement Smart Manufacturing (Industry 4.0) into Chip manufacturing process. K&S is the only company, which supporting these capabilities in its products. We continue to developing Smart Manufacturing Features in parallel to Active Vibration Control functionality in our products. IOT (Internet Of Things), Artificial Intelligence (AI). Machine Learning (ML) functionality in different of type of development and deployment in our systems. In answer to your question, in 2025 we expecting to be a standard creator and leader for Active Vibration Control and Smart Manufacturing in most of Major Semiconductor FABs. Also, we expecting to grow our OEM segment with such capabilities, allowing Semiconductor and other precision machines be smarter, provide higher throughput and prevent unexpected failures.

What Do Innovation, the Global Economy, and Vibration Isolation Systems Have in Common? At first glance, the connection between vibration isolation systems and global economic development may not seem obvious. But how can we create next-generation microchips with precision measured in nanometers? Build ultra-precise laboratories and manufacturing fabs on high floors in seismic zones? Or conduct groundbreaking medical research using highly sensitive equipment? The answer is simple: none of this is possible without perfect stability.
